Represents Commercial Tenant in Successful Litigation Against Illegal Lockout By Landlord

After significantly building out a commercial space, the landlord demanded first month’s rent prior
to the agreed upon date under the lease. Further, the landlord caused a delay in the buildout. When
the landlord did not obtain the rent payment, it changed the locks on the premises. The Gibson Law
Firm sued on behalf of the client for illegal eviction and after presenting testimony at trial from several
witnesses, the judge indicated what he thought about the landlord’s actions. The Court’s utterances
cause the landlord to settle quickly for signficant damages.
